Tweak Tweak

I've been using my quilt room for 19 years this September and it's had a lot of tweaking over those years. But sometimes you just have to wonder "why didn't I think of this sooner?". I've been machine sewing since I was 14, and have been chasing my power foot around the floor for all those years. Gulp, nearly half a century... The other day I saw a FOURTEEN DOLLAR widget to hold the foot stationary. Ding! Well duh, in less than 5 minutes I had my own power foot holder creation.

In this incredibly bland photo you see before you a freebie Glad sandwich meat holder with one side trimmed out and two nails holding it to the floor. Hokey Smokes it works great!
What will I wake up and notice on the morrow?

Daily Gratitudes:
The little doe fawn that seems to live in our goat paddock
Fresh ground coffee
Lint rollers

So clever - isn't it fun to wake up to something that might have been sitting and waiting for us for a long while? Those "ah ha" moments are great.

I have some things stored under my sewing table so I just push the foot pedal up against them and there it stays. Sometimes it pays to have a lot of "stuff" in the sewing room.

I had a terrible time switching from a knee control to foot control fifteen years ago. Finally purchased one of those little floor mat things that keeps it "kind of" in place (can't nail into my concrete floor).

Isn't it fun when you come up with one of those great ideas? I'll be anxiously awaiting the morrow's discovery!

That's my kind of solution! Very clever and inexpensive. Thanks for sharing.

Very clever! I too got a little creative after chasing the foot pedal across the ceramic floor, once to often. I stapled two mouse pads together. Rubber grip sides faced out. Now, the mouse pads doesn't move on the floor and the foot pedal doesn't move on the mouse pad. The staples sink into the mouse pad, so they will not mark the floor.

Very clever!

I have a question about your blog, please! On mine, I'd like to make the 1st page full width, but it is only 2 colums and covers only 2/3 of my screen.

How did you get yours so wide?

Hi Lynn, you need to sign into your blog dashboard and click on LayOut, or from your blog page click on Customize at the top.

In the LayOut section is a tab that says 'Pick New Template'
I chose one called Lefty Stretch I think and then dinked around with the color options. You can only learn by playing around with your settings, you can't hurt much :) Good luck, Sharyn/KalamaQuilts
