Sharyn... I, too, will miss all your insights and revelations. You are truly "one of a kind". But I understand the need to downsize. We're still working on our cabin. We have a couple of drainage issues that we're working on, too. But we're not giving up! I'm keeping my blog until it starts being a pain to maintain... Then, it will be gone, too. Will check back here every few days, just to see if you've posted anything new.

I have enjoyed reading your journeys over the year...

Noooooo!!! This post has nudged me once again to do some more downsizing, something I've been trying to work on the for last year.

On the other hand, I understand about the blog. As you know, my personal blog has been sadly neglected in the last few months and I've seriously considered shutting it down. Most of my connections are on facebook now, anyway.

How will I get inspired to turn this chair 90 degrees over to my sewing machine without your beautiful quilting photos?

Nobody remembers The Cinnamon Bear. It's still on, but I can't get anyone to pipe down, turn off the tv and computers long enough to actually listen to it. Some days I long to be a hermit in a quiet, electronics-limited world.

In our home we enjoy the decorations, we limit gifts and cards but treasure the time shared together
Past Christmas' weren't poor but full of love and blessings, unlike many today, where greed and one up manship rule unfortunately

I love those old magazines too - every now and then I come across a bunch at yard sales and swoop them up and enjoy every page - often they are some I've seen before years ago and the enjoyment is doubled.

I was born the first week of 1953, number 5 child of 7 kids.
Now we had really simple Christmases back then.....new socks and underwear with a whole orange we didn't have to share.

oh Sharon so sad today, I've been way behind in my blog reading so thought I'd catch up today from where I left off. I was so sorry to read of your FIL's passing. I've been especially teary as of late (what's with that), so cried my heart out at this post. I have loved getting re-aquainted with your ability to have fun with all things and creatures. I only live about 3 hours away. I could be there for brunch ( Morning Glory Muffins and a cuppa)! My dream was to have a farm pond like that...and the old farmhouse to go with! Alas, I live on the East Side where ponds are called stock ponds and are out in the middle of a field... and dry up this time of year. What a lovely post - and a lovely spot. I like the idea of solar powered lights - that might be just the thing for our little grove. Some to bring a little sparkle. Wonder if there are solar powered fountains - since we are not near a pond.

And a lovely treat for yourself - can't wait to see if you decide to make something from the books.

I buy secondhand books and magazines, but not much new .... next week I pick up my 'falling off the wagon' purchase. One book, $150 (Aussie dollars .... add at least another 15 for US) it better be good!
